About Tai Chi Chuan

Tai Chi Chuan is considered a "thinking person's" meditation because the aim of practice is to quiet the mind while moving through the different postures.

As an internal martial art, the focus is on proper breathing and posture and the movements are slow, continuous and relaxed. Movements are without strain and provide exercise and toning for every part of the body.

Tai Chi is a pleasurable experience and is easily done as a daily exercise. It requires little space, no special materials and is beneficial in many ways. People of all ages and abilities can learn and benefit from Tai Chi Chuan.

Benefits of Tai Chi practice include:

• strengthens muscles
• decreases tension
• increases concentration
• develops sensitivity
• improves balance and coordination
• provides sense of inner calm and relaxation

Tai Chi In The Park

As often as possible, we like to get out into nature to do Tai Chi. That's why, during the summer, we have "Tai Chi In The Park".

Tai Chi In The Park is held at various local parks, and is open to everybody. It doesn't matter if you've been doing Tai Chi for years, or if it's your first time - come play with us!

Tai Chi Classes

If you're interested in learning Tai Chi, we invite you to come check out one of our classes! You're welcome to attend a couple of classes for free, and see if Tai Chi is for you. Check our calendar page for the current class schedule, and just show up!

If you're still "testing the waters" after your first couple of free classes, or if your schedule makes it difficult for you to get to classes on a consistent basis, we have a "pay as you go" option - only $20.00 per class.

If you decide that you want to seriously pursue learning Tai Chi, however, "pay as you go" would get prohibitively expensive - that's why we have two packages that offer unlimited classes, at an affordable monthly rate.
